Public Authorities and the UN
Albany law School has been accepted as a member of the United Nations Academic Impact Initiave, which partners academic institutions with the UN. The Public Authorities Project of the Government Law Center at Albany law School has proposed to host a symposium to examine the role of public authorities as a means to provide access to private capital for large public infrastructure projects. Historically, developing nations have been reluctant to cede complete control of government projects to private entities. The program will examine whether public authorities would be a suitable mechanism for accessing private capital while allowing for transparent operations and a meaningful measure of public control.
