ABO Takes Enforcement Step

The core requirement of the Public Authorities Accountability Act and the Public Authorities Reform Act is timely programmatic and budgetary reporting required by State and local authorities. Transparency is the goal.  To their credit, most public authorities are complying… but there are, as always, the recalcitrant. The Authorities Budget Office, after exhorting six authorities to comply without success, has issued letters of censure.  The letters constitute the first step on the enforcement spectrum.
