  • The attorney general is going to review the comptroller’s draft audit an LDC in Monroe County. [Democrat & Chronicle]
  • The draft audit has also raised calls for legislative reforms. [Pennfield Post]
  • But the County Exeuctive thinks the audit was just a political ploy: “We’ve been doing this for eight years and two years ago the Comptroller launches an audit and just happens to release it six weeks before an election; that raises questions about the timing in my mind.” [WHAM]
  • Meanwhile, an audit by the New York City Comptroller discovered that the NYC Economic Development Corporation has had $8.9 million in public purpose funds sitting around unused for 19 years. The money was supposed to be used for improvements to the Harlem River Rail Yard in the Bronx. [Brooklyn Eagle]
  • A solar energy company locating in East Fishkill will receive tax breaks from ESDC and the Dutchess County IDA, but only if it actually creates and retains jobs. [Poughkeepsie Journal]
  • And a tissue company opening up in the Village of Brownville is getting all sorts of financing help from the Jefferson County IDA and other economic development agencies. [Watertown Daily Times]
