  • Hurricane/Tropical Storm Irene is causing big problems for the MTA. [Public Authorities Blog]
  • The New York City Housing Authority shut off elevators, boilers, and other services in several housing complexes located within the hurricane evacuation zone. [DNAinfo]
  • Public facilities and services were also shut down by the Battery Park City Authority. [DNAinfo]
  • The New York Power Authority and the Long Island Power Authority have been hard at work dealing with power outages caused by the hurricane. [Long Island Business News]
