Some figures on compensation for New York authority workers
As reported by the Daily News earlier this month, the average public authority worker in New York receives an annual compensation package of $70,600. The Metropolitan Transportation Authority tops authorities in the compensation category, with 3,150 workers receiving over $100,000 a year. That’s only 4.4% of the MTA’s workforce, however, and 18 authorities topped 15%, including the Battery Park City Authority, the Dormitory Authority, the Long Island Power Authority, and the Nassau County Interim Finance Authority. The highest overall compensation package, for $1.3 million, was paid to the CEO of the Westchester County Health Care Corporation.
